The king eternal monarch kdrama has been the buzz as it is the Netflix popular with famous cast Starring Lee Min-Ho, Lee Jung-Jin, and Kim Go-Eun to the last episode of the king aired on12 June 2020 on Netflix and is probably the first kdrama with a plot of parallel universes and a well-known revenge story with some new age king action, and it can be a hella of confusing if you won't recap everything as if had a ton of concepts like love, own family betrayal, murder, mystery back-stabbing, doppelgangers from a parallel universe and the entirety in between.

The King  ending explained

The last episode of the king: everlasting monarch starts with luna texting tae-eul’s .Tae-eul is with lim at the portal, with her gun pointing towards the traitor. The episode shows a flashback from the kingdom of corea in 1994.  Jo yeong reminds him that he needs to protect the king so he may additionally disobey his orders.

Tae-eul says to lim that she will be waiting to see lee gon to be successful. Lee lim, in turn, reminds her that lee gon’s achievement could mean that she will be able to lose all her memories of the king. Tae-eul is hesitant to this but is ready to sacrifice.

 Back in 1994, Lee Lim orders his men to kill young Lee Gon.  Lee Gon and Jo Yeong come into the palace at the same time and take out the men. Lee Lim picks up the Manpasikjeok and Lee Gon’s disappears

Meanwhile in the present-day Lee Lim tells her that they might be stuck in the middle or halfway.

Jo Yeong is hurt in the gunfire and he holds Lee Gon and starts cries. while the lady and the staff grieve on the death of the King. On the other hand, Sin-Jae shows his mother her real son and explains what his father did. Sin-Jae's mother, however, accepts him as her son as well.

1994  Lee Lim goes to the bamboo forest successfully acquiring full Manpasikjeok and watches the portal open. As soon as he is about to go through, Lee Gon comes there stopping him.

In the Present-day Lee Lim tells Tae-eul that his nephew has failed. Tae-eul then tries to shoot but fails. Suddenly, Lee Lim is hit by a bullet and the storms come. 1994 Lee Gon executes Lee Lim. Tae-eul realizes that Lee Gon has succeeded so he will not be coming back, thus fading all the memories from her head as well.

Now if it would have ended there it would have been utterly sad but,

Tae-eul wakes up in the bamboo forest with a bloody coat and a gun  and she is in 2020.

Lee Gon then meets several different versions of Tae Eul and gets his heartbroken each time he realizes that it’s not his Tae Eul.

She then waits for until 2021 gets a voicemail, from Na-ri and she gets to be with Lee Gon. They finally meet once again and then they kiss each other finally a happy ever after. and finally, Lee Gon and Tae-eul end up in the same period in Corea. Jo Yeong catches the couple in the forest. Lee Gon realizes that he must clear the security footage in the palace. They say their final goodbye to each other and pledge to see each other once again.
